Database ARTtheses

The personal data stored in the database ARTtheses is exclusively used for research purposes. The processing of personal data is in the public interest because it serves scientific research purposes and the aim of creating an European research area is taken into account. The principle of data minimization is guaranteed. There is no transfer of personal data to third parties.

The statement of your data is voluntarily. If you want to object the processing, storage and archiving of the data collected by us, you are able to do so at any time without giving reasons via the function „edit records“ in the database itself or via message (by mail to one of the given addresses or by e-mail to arttheses@zikg.eu). As a result, the entry will be removed with immediate effect from the database.

In case of using the function „edit records“, you agree to the processing and storage of your personal data by checking the box in the respective area and sending off the form. When contacting us via the form or by e-mail, your personal information will be exclusively stored for the purpose of processing your request as well as in the event of questions following up and will not be handed on to third parties.

Data Logging

Using the database ARTtheses of the Zentralinstitut für Kunstgeschichte is fundamentally possible without any indication of personal data. When you visit this page or other internet pages, you transmit data to our web server via your internet browser. The following data are recorded during an active connection for communication between your internet browser and our web server:

  • Date and time of the request
  • The name of the requested file
  • The page from which the file was requested
  • The access status (file transmitted, file not found, etc.)
  • The browser and operating system used
  • The complete IP address of the computer making the request
  • The amount of data transmitted

For reasons of technical security, in particular for defense against attempted attacks on our server, these data are stored. The data are processed exclusively for this purpose, a comparison with other data holdings or a transmission to third parties, even if only in excerpts, does not occur.

Cookies

When you visit our website, we store cookies (small text files with information about your visit) on your hard drive. These become invalid at the end of your session. They are required for the unrestricted technical function of the website. Most browsers automatically accept the use of cookies, but you can turn off this function through the browser settings for the current session or permanently.

Active Components

In the information offerings of the Zentralinstitut für Kunstgeschichte, active components such as JavaScript, Java applets, or Active-X controls are used. The use of these functionalities can be turned off through the settings of your internet browser for the current session or permanently.

Electronic Mail (E-Mail)

Information that you send to us unencrypted via electronic mail (e-mail) can possibly be read by third parties during transmission. Furthermore, we generally cannot confirm your identity and do not know who is behind an e-mail address. Legally compliant communication via normal e-mails is thus not guaranteed. We employ filters against unwanted advertising (SPAM filters) that in rare cases automatically classify normal e-mails erroneously as unwanted advertising and delete them. We always automatically delete e-mails that contain damaging programs (viruses).

When contacting us via e-mail, your data is stored in order to process your request as well as in case follow-up questions arise.
